Today I'm grateful
for new medicines.

I’m not sure when super bugs likes MRSA invaded our gyms, hospitals and schools, but it makes me long for the good ole days when the only critter you had to worry about was head lice. Because germophobic panic attacks are a luxury I can’t afford, I was thrilled to hear some good news from researchers in the UK (God save the queen). Mother nature still has a few tricks up her dolman sleeves -- pomegranates have the ability kill MRSA.

I’ll drink to that, and here’s what I’m drinkin’

Kootie Killin’ Pomegranate Martini

This makes two servings, but since you’re drinking it medicinally, let’s say two doses. That’s twice the health benefits.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups pomegranate juice

2 ounces Citron vodka (any brand will do)

1 ounce Cointreau liquor

Splash of sparkling water

Squeeze of lemon juice

Martini shaker filled with ice -- around one cup

Pomegranate seeds for a cute garnish.

Throw everything into your cocktail shaker (except the pomegranate seeds) and shake it like you mean it. Strain into martini glasses with a spoonful of pomegranate seeds.

I’m grateful for new medicine, because now I know the key to staying healthy, is simply having the key to the liquor cabinet.

That’s why I’m grateful for new medicine.

Forget about rainbows and unicorns, I’m grateful for double martinis, single men and pretty much anything covered in chocolate or cheese. This gratitude journal is anonymous because the stuff that tends to fall out of my head and land on the page makes HR departments cringe -- and guys lose my number.
