Today I'm grateful
for emails from friends.

Most Marines and bloggers get more done before 9am than I get done all day. But there’s certainly more than one way to write a blog. And one way is to copy and paste an email from your friend Ellen -- that’s how I roll.

Girls Night Out (forwarded by Ellen Steinberg)

Some 40-year-old girlfriends discuss where they should meet for dinner. Finally, they agree to meet at the Ocean View Restaurant, because the waiters are cute and buff.

10 years later, at 50 years of age, the women once again discuss where they should meet for dinner.  Finally, they agree to meet at the Ocean View Restaurant, because the food is good and the wine selection is excellent.

10 years later, at 60 years of age, the girls once again discuss where they should meet for dinner.  Finally, they agree to meet at the Ocean View Restaurant, because they can eat there in peace and quiet, and there’s a beautiful view of the ocean.

10 years later, at 70 years of age, the women once again discuss where they should meet for dinner.  Finally, they agree to meet at the Ocean View Restaurant, because the restaurant is wheelchair accessible, and it even has an elevator.

10 years later, at 80 years of age, the girls once again discuss where they should meet for dinner. Finally, they agree to meet at the Ocean View Restaurant, because they have never been there before.

I’m grateful for emails from friends because sometimes they come at the moment when you need something -- a laugh, directions to a sample sale, a tug on your heartstrings or content for your blog when you’re hungover.

That’s why I’m grateful emails from friends.

If you’d like to forward this to one of your friends, just use this link. (www.gratitudecocktail.com) Cheers!

Forget about rainbows and unicorns, I’m grateful for double martinis, single men and pretty much anything covered in chocolate or cheese. This gratitude journal is anonymous because the stuff that tends to fall out of my head and land on the page makes HR departments cringe -- and guys lose my number.
